PROMPT Maternity Foundation joins forces with RCOG

The PROMPT Maternity Foundation (PMF) and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) have signed an agreement affirming their joint aim of reducing maternal mortality by working together to disseminate obstetric emergencies training overseas.

Mark James, Chair of PMF said:
“We are delighted to work in partnership with the RCOG to help achieve our audacious goal of making PROMPT training available worldwide. We hope that this will be the start of many joint projects to make childbirth safer, together.”

Paul Fogarty, Honorary Treasurer of the RCOG said:
“This new agreement marks a new chapter in the history of PROMPT and the RCOG.  Providing this multi-professional training package in countries where it is most needed should help improve the care of mothers and their babies. By forming this partnership, we will be able to tap into opportunities in regions such as India, the Middle East and North Africa, where there is growing demand for such training.  We have strong links with our overseas representative committees and are delighted to be working with the PMF to improve maternal mortality and morbidity rates worldwide.”
