This pilot programme is based on a Social Franchising partnership between The PROMPT Maternity Foundation and each maternity unit with an allocated PMF team working together with the unit to support the successful implementation of local PROMPT training. Each maternity unit will have 12 months of implementation support, tailored to each units needs and based on PMF’s understanding of the key factors required to implement the programme effectively.

The PROMPT Maternity Foundation are working with The Health Foundation and Spring Impact as part of the Health Foundation Exploring Social Franchising Programme to scale PROMPT and enable it’s impact to be replicated sustainably.

PROMPT's story

As a result of the positive findings of the SaFE Study and also the associated outcome improvements at Southmead Hospital, the PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) Train-The-Trainers package was developed by a dedicated group of health care professionals based in maternity units in the South West of England, UK. The package was designed to be used locally and to improve outcomes for mothers and their babies.
