Prof Draycott inaugurated as RCOG Vice-President – 13 December 2019

PROMPT's Prof Tim Draycott was elected as Vice-President for Clinical Quality by Council in September and formally inaugurated at the RCOG ceremony on Friday 13th December 2019.

Tim was delighted to welcome Dr Kiran Ghag to the membership of the RCOG on the same day as his inauguration. Kiren was pivotal in helping to deliver and implement PROMPT training successfully in the Philippines and in 2017 the Philippines' government announced a significant improvement in maternal survival across the eight hospitals that implemented PROMPT training.

PROMPT's story

As a result of the positive findings of the SaFE Study and also the associated outcome improvements at Southmead Hospital, the PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) Train-The-Trainers package was developed by a dedicated group of health care professionals based in maternity units in the South West of England, UK. The package was designed to be used locally and to improve outcomes for mothers and their babies.
