History

In 1997 The Confidential Enquiry into Maternal & Child Health (CEMACH) reported evidence of substandard care in more than 50% of all maternal deaths in the UK, with a lack of multi-professional team working and communication failures identified as contributory factors. Read more

PROMPT's story

As a result of the positive findings of the SaFE Study and also the associated outcome improvements at Southmead Hospital, the PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) Train-The-Trainers package was developed by a dedicated group of health care professionals based in maternity units in the South West of England, UK. The package was designed to be used locally and to improve outcomes for mothers and their babies.

Pre-Hospital PROMPT

The Pre-hospital PROMPT package is designed specifically for ambulance trusts to be able to provide Pre-hospital PROMPT training updates locally for paramedics and ambulance staff.
PROMPT 1st Annual Update (2021)

PROMPT's first Annual Update package (in this 3-year series) was launched in July 2021, making it even easier for your local teams to resume effective hands-on training. This is still available if your unit hasn’t purchased it yet.
PROMPT 2nd Annual Update (2022/23)

This is the 2nd package in our 3-year Annual Update series (2021 – 2024). This package includes the PROMPT Implementation programme (iPROMPT) and Community PROMPT for midwifery led teams.
