Dr Chris Yau has worked closely with the Erbs Palsy Group , a UK-based charity, to investigate the quality of life associated with obstetric brachial plexus injuries.  They have been assessing the quality of life of adults with obstetric brachial plexus injuries, but have also been interested in the quality of life of carers, looking after children suffering from this injury.

The results of the study confirm that brachial plexus injuries adversely impact not only on those that receive the injury, but also their carers and families.
