Pre Hospital PROMPT

The Pre-hospital PROMPT training package will be released as part of the Annual Update in July 2021. The training provides hands-on simulation training for paramedic and ambulance staff who new required to provide emergency maternity care in the pre-hospital setting. However the themes covered in the package could easily be adapted for use by other allied health care professionals providing pre-hospital care in Emergency Departments, community and midwife led birth centres.     As a result of the positive findings of the SaFE Study and also the associated outcome improvements at Southmead Hospital, the PROMPT (PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) Train-The-Trainers package was developed by a dedicated group of health care professionals based in maternity units in the South West of England, UK. The package was designed to be used locally and to improve outcomes for mothers and their babies.
